Silvery Tweed earns Soil Association organic licence for bespoke blends.
Silvery Tweed Cereals has been awarded a license for creating individual bespoke blends, that are then certified organic. This enhances our organic product catalogue, which already includes flaked cereals.
The licence, awarded by the Soil Association for 2021/2022, reinforces our commitment to quality traceability and to meet our customers’ requirements. We have already been putting it to good use developing our first certified organic blend for a customer, which has now been approved for launch.
The Soil Association has thorough criteria that needs to be met to achieve these accreditations. This includes demonstrating that raw materials that have been organically grown are safeguarded from cross-contamination (as we have both organic and non-organic products on site), traceability for the whole production cycle and the correct labelling of products.
Holding this licence also allows our on-site New Product Development (NPD) team to work with customers developing bespoke organic blends, as well as holding stock of organic products.
As the ingredients for each blend require approval on a case-by-case basis, we can work closely with you, in conjunction with the Soil Association, to develop your new blend.
