Investment for allergen storage
Silvery Tweed Cereals has always prioritised and practised the strict segregation of allergens and in particular sesame seeds. We have a dedicated processing line to isolate sesame from any other product or process, as well as dedicated changing areas and workwear for staff, as well as dedicated cleaning tools specific to allergenic produce.
We have recently invested £100,000 and built a completely controlled area to enable us to safely store processed and raw sesame on-site. The 12,000 sq ft allergen warehouse is entirely segregated from the rest of our warehouse, with separate delivery and despatch points and entrances and exits for staff working with sesame.
